The list of organizations under FE Division
(1)The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) an autonomous organization under the Ministry which oversees the functioning of the following Institutes/Centres:
- Forest Research Institute, Dehradun
- Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur
- Himalayan Forest Research Institute, Shimla
- Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding, Coimbatore
- Institute of Forest Productivity, Ranchi
- Institute of Wood Science and Technology, Bangalore
- Rain Forest Research Institute, Jorhat
- Tropical Forest Research Institute, Jabalpur
- Forest Research Centre, Hyderabad
- Forestry Research & Human Resource Development Centre, Chhindwara
(2) Forest Survey of India (FSI), Dehradun has following four Zonal Offices:
- Central Zone, Nagpur
- Eastern Zone, Kolkata
- Northern Zone, Shimla
- Southern Zone, Bangalore
(3) Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB) has 5 Regional Offices located at:
- Chennai, Southern Region
- Kolkata, Eastern Region
- Mumbai, Western Region
- Jablapur, Central Region
- New Delhi, Northern Region
(4) Directorate of Forest Education (DFE) supervises the following State Forest Colleges:
- State Forest Service College, Dehradun
- State Forest Service College, Coimbatore
- State Forest Service College, Burnihat
- Eastern Forest Ranger’s College, Kurseong
(5) National Zoological Park (NZP), New Delhi
(6) Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy (IGNFA), Dehradun:
Forestry establishment matters relating to all the Union Territories of India (except Andaman & Nicobar Forest Plantation Development Corporation), and general references in respect of frontline staff of state forest Deptts. are also handled in FE Division.
